AWWW good times!

I can't tell you how happy I am to be back into society, back into the real world. I do have to say in my in-laws defense, I do have fresh eggs, fresh veggies, and good home cooking, but still...NO INTERNET...seriously. Just some highlights from the last 3 weeks:
I found a sprinkler park that we frequented.
Visited the local park occasionally.
Drove to NC to a place called the Fun Factory.
Went to a local beach a few times, that was like the river turned beachish with sand.
Spent time around the house or went to the pasture.
That's about it folks...can you see why I was on the verge of insanity.
I really wish I could show pictures, perhaps another time.
Oh wait, I do have an out of character story that may amuse you...
One morning I was looking out the kitchen window only to find a baby goat had gotten out of the pen. My father-in-law was home, but was in no condition to catch a goat. Seriously how hard could it be? I had to step up and volunteer to catch the poor goat. He laughed straight at me, and thought it was the funniest thing. The little city girl was going out to attempt to be a country girl..hey I was ready for a challenge! So after running around like a chicken without a head, I decided to make a plan. I the city girl had to outsmart the country goat. I chased her and blocked it up against a shed and literally jumped on her. OK laugh, but I caught the little critter. Let me tell you now for those of you who have never caught a baby goat...they are fast, so don't try this at home...you may not have the skills I had to catch her and still look fab after! Needless to say I went straight to the shower to scrub all the goat cooties off me. My boys thought it was COOL!! I rocked!
There really is so much more, but I need to go rest and just hang out with my cousin for a bit before hitting the sack.
SO now I get to come back and muse some about my teacher training after two fun filled days!! Yesterday, Thursday, was so great. I have to say I really got more out of this 9 hour day than I did through 9 months of regular teacher training. LOL Really, it was so helpful, insightful, and enlightening. Today we did more teaching and following the recipe for baking a pound cake. You might be wondering what the hell is she talking about....i will explain more later..hehe See now you will have to come back and read more to find out what I am talking about.

Thanks Anne, Christina, and Faith for you comments and feeling my pain. I will say this, it has gotten a bit I say a BIT better, but more to come over the next few days. Off to rest and get ready for a great day tomorrow.

Jason has the boys at a nearby park awaiting my phone call. As I look around me a the beauty this area brings, I can help but continue to look around and say- What no mall? No Starbucks? no HEB or Whole foods? to name a few. Where has my husband brought me?? Sure those of you who love the outdoors are probably saying...seriously Jen, but sorry folks, I like certain things and well, just can't live long without them! So there the awful truth comes out...oh well that's just the way it is. In the meantime, I did find Starbucks mocha in the 4 pack at Quality Foods...that's the local grocery store. Okay I have just been told that I only have 5 minutes left on the computer...when does it end people..seriously!! timing me on the computer..this place is dead, it's not like there is line waiting...
More to write when I get a chance.

So much to say...So little time

I know I have been away for a bit, and some of you have emailed asking if I was ok..I am just crazy busy with kids schedule, husband schedule,Oliver's schedule,oh, and then there's me!
So I am actually out of town right now, so I only have a few moments to catch everyone up to speed...I will post pics later!
Since the 8th of may:
I had a going away, girls night out party,if you will with my mommies group at Kona Grill..YUM!!! and not just the food...$4.00 apple martinis and 1/2 price sushi!! I was in heaven...ate just enough, and drank just enough to where I was not over served! DELISH!
Weekend of Immersion with my FAB teacher Christina Sell.(small commercial-anyone who wants to take yoga with an uber awesomest teacher{do you love the words..uber awesomest? Those are used in jentopia-my own little world}...check her out-her website it is in my links section). Anyway great weekend as usual lots of challenging asana.
Jason commissioning and graduation. Family and friends began to arrive Wednesday the 14th. VERY VERY busy week! I was able to get away and sneak in a back to back practice with my teacher...I really needed it! I left there so renewed and so open...we did crazy back bends in the first class- scorpion with the use of a chair and hip openers in the second...Beka would you agree? My cousin Beka joined me for the hip opener class...she was in la la land for a while after...
Friday 16th- commissioning ceremonies all day...my hubby looked so hot in his dress blues...he is so handsome! His mentor gave him the oath (tear) and I pinned his rank ( A BIT NERVOUS), and Jason (not my husband Jason, our very good friend Jason-together we are a tricycle-long story) gave him his first salute. Now that he is an officer you all have to salute him..nah just kidding. Only the non-commissioned officers have to. My son Cade almost made it through, but escaped my mom toward the end of the ceremony, and came down to the front where I was sitting and in a loud voice that only 3 years olds have asked my husband "Daddy uh doing up there?" there was a laugh from the crowd. Oh and I forgot to mention, as the 2 star general was speaking(well more like reading off his notes) Cade was singing in his 3 year old voice the ABC's..I thought we were going to be asked to leave.
Saturday 17th Graduation day! Finally! It has been a challenging 4 semesters, but he did it and might I say with great grades! Jas was playing 4 different roles: husband, daddy, student, and soldier..wow!
Anywho, my mom had to remove Cade from the auditorium. He was not able to just sit and stay quiet. She made it back in before Jas walked the stage...just in time.
I think our group was the loudest in the place. Jas' army buddies made it a point to really yell loud...and you know those boys can yell. Speaker was long and painful, but he apologized before he began warning us that it was coming...
Party that night was great..good food, good drinks, good family and friends! What more can you ask for. Now we wind down from that only to prepare for the movers...yikes!
More to come in the next few days. I will post a blog of just pics to highlight the events.
Love and light

A Day in the Life...

Once upon a time there was a beautiful sleeping princess waiting for her true love to give her that awakening kiss....oh wait, that is sleeping beauty. Okay, so there was this short, cute, and rather sassy girl who loved the color red, (which by the way wore a darling BCBG red hood and cape) was taking a lovely peaceful walk all by herself, and was scared to death by a giant wolf...no wait, that's little red riding hood. Okay one more try: Once there was a girl who had two extremely active boys, and she ran around chasing them like a chicken with it's head cut off all day until the two darling little critters decided to hibernate for the night...YEAH that's it...my life! Okay so what do those two stories have in common with me.... well really almost nothing, but I love the beautiful princess part, the whole kiss deal, and for those of you who know me the color red....life as I knew it prior to kids is long long gone. As my new life emerged with the birth of my first then soon to follow the second, what a drastic change...it was rather scary, ever changing and ever evolving. I look forward to the new adventures and challenges only a mother can experience. So just to give you an idea of one of my days, yesterday although pretty uneventful since the boys are in school, was non the less still challenging. The boys needed a TB test (tuberculosis) for the pre-school they will be attending in the fall, so off the peds we go...talk about fun! After two rounds of screaming and crying, (mind you both had to have it and dad couldn't make it) I had to offer and promise the moon and the stars to get them to calm down.... so after it was all said and done, I spent the rest of my evening at Chuck E Cheese. Now I know you all that don't have kids or whose kids are now grown are really jealous that I got to go to such 5 star venue for dinner...now now, somehow you need to get over it. I know it won't be easy but........... eat your heart out!! hehe
Once we got home, the typical 4 B's-bath, brush teeth, books, bed!
Now after a full nights sleep (you know I look forward to it) I spend some time this morning writing as I have the 3 year old trying to punch the keys as well....what ever happened to fairy tails, and being swept off your feet and all that good stuff??

Inspiration and More

THIS IS GONNA BE A LONG ONE PEOPLE...LOTS IN THIS HEAD OF MINE!
I returned back to Austin Friday mid morning just in time to make it to my weekend workshop with Desiree Rumbaugh. So can I tell you how excited I have been about this..I get to learn from Desiree Rumbaugh! For those of you who don't know her, she is a senior teacher in the Anusara Method and travels all over the world to give workshops and to help others through yoga therapy. Let me tell you people she is AWESOME!!! What an incredible woman who through yoga and commitment to self has overcome some of the worst challenges life has to bring. Throughout the weekend Desiree talked about life and what types of challenges and barriers it throws us, but does it really throw them to us? (here is where the reflection part of my blog surfaces). As we go throughout our own individual journey, the choices we make and the paths that we take all have cause and effect. Some of us have harder times than others why? Well, if you think about it (like it did) we have caused it ourselves. One comparison that Desiree made was "why did I get dealt this and she get dealt that?" "Am I not as good a person like she is?" If you think about things in that sense, it can make you feel like the gods are in it for you. Looking at it through different eyes, you may come to the realization that we reap what we sow, or we have brought it upon ourselves. At that point then really who do we have to blame? Now by no means am I suggesting that we consciously do these things or that we want to make life difficult for us, but it happens. Paths we take, choices we make. We can choose the outcome by thinking positive and like Desiree says "being super human". Trying to find ways to make changes in our lives for the better, instead of pulling out the "poor me" card. Take a stance folks! No more drowning in sorrows and negativity. If something bad happens to you, get up on your feet, brush it off )I tell my boys that all the time) and make a change and a difference in your path! You know that's not a bad way to life, the hard part is doing it. Easier said than done, I know, but not impossible. I have seen it before my eyes within Desiree this weekend!! She has overcome death and injury to name a few, and you know what, she is happy...WE CAN TOO!!! Apart from the inspiration to live life to the fullest, and be HAPPY, she is a KICK ASS yoga teacher. Now I have thrown myself into this method because I believe it, I have seen the changes it has made within myself both emotionally and physically, and I love the people that it draws. The good vibes you get when you walk into the room. We were packed like sardines this weekend, but no one cared. There was so much positive energy, I wish I could have bottled it up and taken it to use when I really need it! How exciting that we can use yoga as a means to create these changes and these dynamic results that we want for ourselves.
I can go on and on, but I know you all don't have all day to read this blog...soooo
Here are a few pics from this weekend

me and my teacher Christina Sell (another BAD ASS TEACHER)
we almost look like twinkies with our hairdo's (smile)
